A reflection on ego, expression, and empathy
---
π₯ Part I: The Courage to Listen
Only a brave consciousness can truly read and receive another’s thoughts —
because its ego is rooted in truth, not fear.
Such a being doesn’t feel threatened by disagreement or contradiction.
They know that truth evolves, and so must we.
But those who fight for truth — yet refuse to hear others —
are often driven not by clarity, but by an ego wrapped in illusion.
> They are not defending truth.
They are defending their version of it — built on insecurity.
This is why true seekers do not just speak truth —
they also listen for it, even in unlikely places.

π± Part II: A Positive Interpretation
Why Some People Can’t Listen to Others’ Expression
Not all silence is arrogance.
Not all resistance is ego.
Sometimes, those who can’t listen are not unwilling — they are unready.
---
I. Listening Can Feel Like Exposure
For some, hearing another’s truth is not a threat to their ego,
but a threat to their inner stability.
Their world — often built over years of survival —
feels like a house of cards.
Even a gentle wind of insight
can feel like an earthquake.
> It’s not that they don’t care —
It’s that they fear what might happen if they do.
---
II. Expression Is a Mirror
Every authentic expression is a mirror.
But some mirrors reflect wounds they’ve long ignored.
People avoid listening not to win arguments,
but to avoid awakening grief they aren’t yet ready to meet.
This isn't cowardice.
It's inner tenderness.
---
III. Listening Requires Safety
Before someone can truly listen,
they must feel safe enough to not collapse if they are changed.
And in a world that punishes change,
that safety is rare.
---
IV. So What Can We Do?
We offer them gentleness, not judgment.
We create spaces where listening is not demanded —
but invited.
Because:
> “The mind opens when the heart feels safe.”
---
πΌ A Poetic Ending
Some don’t listen
not because they are cruel —
but because they are carrying
a flood behind a fragile dam.
So we don’t break the dam.
We sit beside the wall.
We whisper stories.
We wait for the day
they open the gate
themselves.

It is always good to express, Isn’t it?
